Marco is a graduate of the George Washington University with a B.A. in International Development and Latin American & Hemispheric Studies. With these two fields as a more general area of focus, he completed a concentration in International Development. His professional aim and passion are to apply his education and international upbringing towards affecting change for individuals around the world who are and have been marginalized, underserved and disenfranchised by their societies. He believes these complex issues must be addressed by a diverse series of perspectives and approaches, ranging from increasing transparency, accountability and human rights values on an institutional level to empowering individuals socially, economically and otherwise at the local level. When change is instituted at an individual level, and as unequal societies become more integrated, populations can reach a level of agency whereby they may play a role in determining and shaping their own futures, as well as those of their families, communities, and nations.
Beyond his professional aspirations, Marco is driven by a love of teaching, learning and helping those around him. He loves to play football (soccer) and support his club, A.C. Milan, religiously. In his spare time, he also enjoys playing and making music with friends; He has played the piano his whole life and recently learned the guitar and drums. He always look forward to Harry Potter weekends, and can always be counted on to be making obscure references to The Office.
